Riverview Begins Campaign

(SOCCER - NS) Cape Breton High School Soccer League

Tue Sep 12, 2017 - The defending Cape Breton High School Soccer League champions, Riverview Reds, opened their campaign with a convincing 10-0 romp over Sydney Academy in girls play, at Riverview.
Hat tricks from Taylor Coleman and Julia Currie led the attack which also seen single markers from Maddie Coleman, Kelly Mc Innis, Emma Orrego and Sasha Mac Donald.
Virginia Braggio kept the slate clean.
The other match of the day saw Breton Education Centre of New Waterford, visit Memorial High and came away with a 3-0 win.
Abby Mac Neil with two goals in the 53rd and 55th sparked the attack. Caleigh Mac Pherson put the game away with a final goal in the 61st.
The shutout was shared by Julie Ann Reid and Kelsie Neville.
The next game in the girls league goes tomorrow night at Veterans Turf when Sydney Academy visit Breton Education Centre.
